REPLICATE - Discipleship Ministry
The Great Commission is not merely a call to share the Gospel or even to invite others to church. It is one believer replicating himself in the life of another. It is leading another person to Christ and then closer to Him.
More than a program
Replicate uses books as training guides, but discipleship is more than a book. Often, those involved will meet with another Christian on a weekly basis, but discipleship is more than a weekly meeting. Discipleship is life on life for life. This means that when a Christian takes on the task of mentoring another believer, he or she is making a huge commitment.
Life on Life: This includes a weekly meeting, but not exclusively. It requires a genuine friendship. The Christian will text, hang out with, and invite their disciple over for dinner. As they live life together, the mentor is able to teach and demonstrate biblical principles in every situation.
for Life: Just because the individual being discipled has finished a book or is now discipling someone else, does not mean the relationship ends. As time progresses, meeting times will become further and further apart, and the relationship will evolve into that of a parent and an adult child. Though different, the friendship and mentoring is still as vital as ever.
The Path from Life to Legacy
Discipleship is not a Sunday-Wednesday Christianity. It is a day-by-day commitment that lasts entire lifetime. It begins at the moment of salvation, and ends in glory.
Discipleship Goals
Those involved in Replicate are constantly pressing toward specific goals.
